Meet James Hood

the artist behind Beautifica and sister show Mesmerica...

James Hood is renowned as a vital and versatile musical pioneer - especially with his work on the PanART hang, a uniquely mesmeric melodic instrument, and for his collaborations with international animation artists.

His lengthy and varied musical resumé includes playing drums in The Pretenders, an ongoing two-decades-plus run as mastermind of the visionary ambient/electronica act Moodswings, and an expansive array of production and soundtrack projects.

All tickets are 100% refundable up to 30 days of the date of your event.

Our Customer Service Team aim to reply within 5 hours between the hours of 10am to 10pm (PT).


Is the show suitable for guests who are prone to seizures or motion sickness?
There are no strobe lights used in the production but there are some fast image and light transitions, so we would advise caution for those who suffer from seizures. Equally, while the vast majority of our patrons have an amazing time with no issues, a small minority who are very susceptible to motion sickness find immersive entertainment slightly uncomfortable, so we would advise caution if you fall into this camp.

Is the show suitable for autistic people?
We have found that autistic people LOVE our shows! Please note the venue is dark and there is surround sound. We advise sitting at the end of a row if you think a quick exit might be required. Our on-site staff will assist if you alert them at check-in.

Doors to the lobby open for check-in 30 minutes before each show.

  • VIPs are invited to choose their seats in the theater 15 minutes before show time.

  • We recommend arriving during the 30-minute check-in window.
    Guests arriving earlier will be asked to return during the check-in window.
  • Seats are available on a first-come-first-served basis. Arriving during the check-in window increases your chances of getting your preferred seat!
  • Latecomers will not be admitted.
  • Water is allowed in the Liberty Science Center's Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium, but no other food or drink.

The LSC(Liberty Science Center)'s mission is to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers and excite learners of all ages about the power, promise, and pure fun of science and technology.

LSC is a 300,000-square-foot learning center located in Liberty State Park on the Jersey City bank of the Hudson near the Statue of Liberty. The Science Center houses 12 museum exhibition halls, a live animal collection with 110 species, giant aquariums, a 3D theater, live simulcast surgeries, hurricane- and tornado-force wind simulators, K-12 classrooms and labs, teacher-development programs, and the Western Hemisphere's biggest planetarium—the Jennifer Chalsty Planetarium and LSC Giant Dome Theater. More than 750,000 students, teachers, and parents visit Liberty Science Center each year, and tens of thousands more participate in the Center's off-site and online programs.

ACCESSIBILITY

A small drop-off area is available near the entrance, only for guests with special needs. Enter from Phillip Street, drop off guests, and proceed to the parking lot entrance.

PARKING & DIRECTIONS

From Manhattan or traveling west: Take the Holland Tunnel to the first exit on the NJ Turnpike, Exit 14B. After the toll, bear left, go downhill and around the traffic circle to the left. Cross the railroad tracks and turn left onto Jersey City Boulevard to enter the parking lot. Travel time from the exit: 3-4 minutes.

From all other points: Take the NJ Turnpike to Exit 14C, staying in right-hand lanes at the toll. The exit is immediately after the toll. Take the first right onto Jersey City Boulevard, then make an immediate left to enter the parking lot. Travel time from the exit: under 1 minute.

From Staten Island: Take the Goethals Bridge to the NJ Turnpike North. Follow signs to Exit 14C, then follow the directions above.

The parking lot is owned by the state of New Jersey and operated by a private company. LSC does not receive parking revenue. The fee for cars and vans during the day is $7.00.
